The game takes place in the year 2330, where humanity has expanded and explored beyond our solar system, leading into the unknown. Starfield sets itself apart from the other “earthly” Bethesda games wit the objective to explore the space! Starfield is Bethesda most ambitious project yet, after being hit once again with a small delay that moved the release window from June to the 6th of September (not without critics mind you), Todd Howard himself has explained various new details about the game, including an important piece of news for a whole show dedicated to Starfield in June, as Microsoft won’t be joining E3 of this year but will host his own show to reveal new games with their own pacing.Īs for Starfield, it’s the first new IP for Bethesda in over 25 years, from the spinoff action adventure The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, as for the rest of the big IPs other than TES are indeed acquired. Eventually, even if it’s 2 years after release, with updates and DLCs + of course… mods, the game should be a must-have, and who knows, become the new reference of AAA games in terms of RPGs, while waiting for TES VI. Hopefully the game won’t be too repetitive in terms of everything secondary, and the lore will be interesting, as will the writing. The content should be monstrous, the map infinitely bigger than Skyrim and co., even if the planets won’t be the size of No Man’s Sky’s (if they’re not empty: we don’t care…). But the gameplay on land should not normally be neglected. Space flight is featured, planetary as well (skimming), with combat planned as well. So if it’s to face a bad game experience and have to wait 6 months… no need!Ībout the game itself: an open world RPG that focuses on planet exploration. Bethesda games are often released buggy, unfinished, and several months late in development. Yet the game has been delayed until the fall. Bethesda is under pressure from Microsoft though, which has a hole in its schedule and struggles to keep up with Sony’s releases (although gamers are also quite dissatisfied with Sony’s exclusives too). Starfield is coming in 2023, finally (well, it’s not 100% sure yet…).
